Man charged with alleged sexual assault related offences - Leichhardt

A man has been charged with alleged sexual assault offences following an investigation in Sydney’s inner west.

In May 2025, detectives attached to Wollongong Police District commenced an investigation regarding the alleged sexual assault and sexual touching of a 38-year-old woman at a hotel room in Leichhardt on 17 May 2025.

Following extensive inquiries, just after 9.00am today (Friday 4 July 2025), police from the Central Metropolitan Domestic Violence High Risk Offenders Team attended a house in Oberon Street, Randwick and arrested a 42-year-old man.

He was taken to Maroubra Police Station where he was charged with sexual assault without consent and sexually touch another person without consent.

The man was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court tomorrow (Saturday 5 July 2025).
