Woman charged over alleged arson - Hamilton

A woman will face court today charged following a fire at a business in Hamilton over the weekend.

About 6am on Saturday 28 June 2025, emergency services were called to a massage clinic on Beaumont Street, Hamilton, following reports of a fire.

At the scene, police were told a woman allegedly ignited the fire against the exterior wall of the clinic before leaving the scene.

Fire and Rescue NSW firefighters attended and extinguished the blaze which caused damage to the exterior wall and roof space of the building.

A 63-year-old woman inside the premises was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for smoke inhalation.

Following extensive inquiries, police attended a unit on Fowler Street, Hamilton South, about 12.30pm yesterday (Sunday 29 June 2025).

A 37-year-old woman was arrested and taken to Newcastle Police Station where she was charged with damage property by fire/explosive over $15000.

She was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court today (Monday 30 June 2025).
