Traffic diversions and evacuations to remain as crane operation continues - Carlingford

Emergency services have advised local residents in the Carlingford and Pennant Hills areas that traffic diversions and evacuations are expected to remain in place today (Thursday 26 June 2025).
Residents were evacuated from several homes in Shirley Street, Carlingford over night as a precaution as efforts continued to secure a damaged crane on a worksite on Pennant Hills Road, Carlingford.
The evacuation order remains in place. Further advice will be provided later today in respect to when residents might be able to return to their homes.
Emergency services are working closely with the worksite owners to restore safety to the site and area. NSW Police appreciate the patience and understanding of the residents and those affected.
A number of road closures also remain in place, including Pennant Hills Road at Carlingford. Local diversions are in place and motorists should allow extra travel time and follow directions of traffic crews on site.
