Guns, drugs, cash seized, two charged in targeted operation - Strike Force Bogangate

Guns, drugs and cash have been seized and two people charged in a targeted police operation in the state’s north-west.
Strike Force Bogangate was established in January 2025 to investigate the supply of prohibited drugs in the Oxley Police District.
Since its inception, officers attached to the Oxley Proactive Crime Team (PCT) have arrested and charged 11 people with 45 offences including firearm and drug offences, participate in criminal group, goods in custody suspected of being stolen and outstanding arrest warrants.
Police seized three stolen rifles, three pistols and ammunition, an electronic stun device, counterfeit money, knives as well as drugs including methylamphetamine, cocaine, cannabis, gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB), MDMA, Fentanyl, and almost $7000 in cash alleged to be the proceeds of crime.
Last Friday, police arrested a 56-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman when three search warrants were executed in Tamworth.
The man has been charged with 10 offences relating to the possession and ongoing supply of prohibited drugs,
- Supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis (two counts)
- Supply prohibited drug (four counts)
- Participate criminal group contribute criminal activity
- Use, supply, acquire, possess stolen firearm or part (three counts)
The woman was charged with seven offences,
- Take part supply prohibited drug (four counts)
- Use, supply, acquire, possess stolen firearm or part (three counts)
Both have been refused bail to appear in Tamworth Local Court today (Tuesday 24 June 2025).
Oxley Police District Crime Manager, Detective Inspector Thomas Aylett, said these arrests are part of an ongoing proactive strategy targeting illegal activities within the Oxley Police District.
“We have been planning targeted operations for several months and we are now making arrests based on intelligence-driven tactics.
“We have been working closely with the community and know we have strong support for these operations, and assure them these will be ongoing throughout the year,” Det Insp Aylett said.
