Man charged after teen injured in alleged hit and run - Maroubra

A man has been arrested and charged after a teenage boy was injured following an alleged hit and run in Sydney’s east today.
Just after 4am (Saturday 21 June 2025), emergency services were called to Beauchamp Road, Maroubra, following reports a person had been struck by a car.
Officers attached to Eastern Beaches Police Area Command attended and found a teenage boy with serious injuries to his legs and lower body.
He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital in a stable condition, where he remains.
The vehicle allegedly left the scene before the arrival of police.
A crime scene was established – and with the assistance of officers attached to the Crash Investigation Unit – an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident commenced.
Following inquiries, about 9.30am today (Saturday 21 June 2025), police arrested a 22-year-old man at a home on New Orleans Crescent, Maroubra.
A Toyota Prado was also seized and will undergo forensic testing.
He was taken to Maroubra Police Station where he was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and driver not disclose identity of passenger as required.
The man was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court tomorrow (Sunday 22 June 2025).
