Man charged with firearm offences after search warrant executed at Bathurst

A man will face court today charged with firearm offences following a search warrant in the state’s Central Tablelands.
About 6.15am yesterday (Thursday 19 June 2025), police attended a home on Slim Street, Bathurst, to serve a Firearm Prohibition Order (FPO), and subsequently executed search warrant.
Officers located and seized two SUVs, a motorcycle, firearms, ammunition, rifle-cleaning kit, firearm parts, a bag of white crystalised substance believed to be methylamphetamine, and knives.
About 8am, a 26-year-old man arrived at the home and was arrested and taken to Bathurst Police Station and charged with,
- Possess unauthorised pistol (two counts)
- Possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority (two counts)
- Drive motor vehicle during disqualification period
- Self administer/attempt self administer prohibited drug
- Possess prohibited drug
- Possess more than unregistered firearms without licence/permit
- Use, supply, acquire, possess stolen firearm or part (two counts), and
- Possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit (two counts).
He was refused bail to appear at Orange Local Court today (Friday 20 June 2025).
