Man charged over alleged intimidation with firearm near Condobolin

Man has been charged over an alleged intimidation with a firearm near Condobolin this week.

Just after 9pm on Tuesday 10 June 2025, two men – aged 25 and 18 – were conducting contract pest control at a property on Marsden Road, Fairholme, about 43km north west of Condobolin, when they approached a Toyota Landcruiser for trespassing.

Police were told the two men confronted the driver of the Landrcruiser before he allegedly picked up a firearm and aimed it towards the two men and asking them to leave.

The two men returned to their car and left the property and contacted police.

Officers attached to Central West Police District commenced inquiries into the incident.

Following inquiries, about 3.30am, yesterday (Wednesday 11 June 2025), police were patrolling Bushmans Street, Parkes, when they stopped a Toyota Landcruiser that was reported earlier for an alleged intimidation.

After speaking with the driver – a 45-year-old man – he was arrested and taken to Parkes Police Station.

Following a search of the vehicle police located and seized, two bolt action rifles, five firearm bolts, ammunition, and unauthorised prescription medication.

He was charged with,

  • Stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm
  • Not keep firearm safely-not pistol/prohibited firearm
  • Possess loaded firearm public place
  • Enter enclosed agricultural land possess/discharge firearm, and
  • Possess/attempt to, prescribed restricted substance.

The man was given conditional bail to appear at Parkes Local Court on Thursday 24 July 2025.
