Appeal to locate a teen missing from Gillieston Heights

Police are appealing for assistance to locate a teenage girl missing from the state’s north.

Lakyia Gillison, aged 14, was last seen on Les Drive, Gilleston Heights, about 5.30pm on Monday (9 June 2025).

When she could not be contacted or located, officers attached to Port Stephens Hunter Police District were contacted and commenced inquiries into her whereabouts.

Family and police hold concerns due to her age.

Laykia is described as being of Indian Subcontinental appearance, about 140cm tall, of thin build, with long black hair and brown eyes.

She was last seen wearing a black jumper, ripped blue jeans and tall black sandals.

She is known to frequent the Maitland and Sydney areas.
