Teen charged after pedestrian injured in crash - Fairfield

A teenage boy will face court charged after a pedestrian was injured in a crash in Sydney’s southwest overnight.

About 10.50pm (Saturday 7 June 2025), emergency services responded to the corner of Nelson and Sackville Street, Fairfield, after reports a vehicle had hit a pedestrian and a parked car.

Officers attached to Fairfield City Police Area Command attended along with NSW Ambulance paramedics, who treated the pedestrian – a 66-year-old man – for serious injuries.

He with taken to hospital in a stable condition for further treatment.

The driver and passenger – both aged 16 – were located on Nelson Street a short time later.

The driver was arrested and taken to Fairfield Police Station and charged with cause bodily harm by misconduct, in charge of motor vehicle, negligent driving, learner not accompanied by driver / police officer / tester, fail to stop and assist after impact cause injury and not give particulars to owner of damaged property.

He was given conditional bail and will appear before a children’s court Monday 4 August 2025.
