Investigation underway after fatal stabbing - Broken Hill

An investigation is underway after a man died following an alleged stabbing in the state’s west overnight.

Just after 11.50pm (Thursday 5 June 2025), emergency services were called to a home on Duff Street, Broken Hill, following reports of a concern for welfare.

On arrival, officers attached to Barrier Police District located a man – believed to be aged in his 40s – with stab wounds to his neck.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he could not be revived.

The man is yet to be formally identified.

A crime scene has been established and officers attached to Barrier Police District, with the assistance from officers attached to State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, commenced an investigation into the incident.

Inquiries continue.
