CCTV image released as investigation continues over public place shooting - Armidale

Detectives have released a CCTV image as investigations continue into a public place shooting last week.

About 3.20am on Saturday 31 May 2025, emergency services were called to Niagara Street, Armidale, following reports of shots fired.

Officers attached to New England Police District were told 19-year-old man was on the street when an unknown person approached, and a number of shots were fired towards him.

The man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for a wound to his leg and groin before being taken to hospital for further treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident has commenced.

Following inquiries, detectives have released a CCTV image of a man and a dark sedan at a service station on Queen Elizabeth Drive, Armidale.

Police believe the man may be able to assist police with their inquiries.
