Taskforce Falcon officers have hit the ground running, arresting three people and uncovering a car storage bolthole as part of proactive taskings across Sydney during the operation’s first week.

Taskforce Falcon is led by State Crime Command, with the NSW Crime Commission, to investigate and suppress violent crime in the Sydney metropolitan area.

On Monday 2 June 2025, officers were briefed by Deputy Commissioner David Hudson, Acting Assistant Commissioner Jason Weinstein and Taskforce Falcon Commander Detective Superintendent Jason Box ahead of moving into their new shared headquarters.

About 6.30am yesterday (Wednesday 5 June 2025), Taskforce Falcon officers executed search warrant at a large property in Austral, where they located and seized three allegedly stolen vehicles.

The vehicles – a Volkswagen Golf, BMW and Lexus – were allegedly stolen between Sunday 25 May and Wednesday 28 May 2025.

A 37-year-old man who arrived at the scene was arrested in relation to the vehicles. He was taken to Liverpool Police Station, where he was charged with two counts of goods in personal custody suspected being stolen (motor vehicle).

He was granted strict conditional bail to appear in Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday 16 July 2025.

During a search of the property, police located and seized four gel blasters disguised at three semi-automatic pistols and a revolver.

They also located a hydroponic setup with six cannabis plants.

Two men, aged 52 and 41, were arrested and taken to Liverpool Police Station.

The 52-year-old was charged with possess unauthorised firearm, not keep firearm safely-prohibited firearm and possess drug (not cannabis leaf/MDMA) not exceed small quantity.

He was refused bail to appear in Liverpool Local Court today (Thursday 5 June 2025).

The 41-year-old was charged with cultivate prohibited plant <= small quantity and given conditional bail to appear in Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday 16 July 2025.
