A man has died following a shooting in Granville on the weekend.

About 5.10pm (Sunday 25 May 2025), emergency services were called to Woodville Road, Granville, following reports of a public place shooting.

Officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command arrived and located a utility with two men inside suffering multiple gunshot wounds. Two other men in the vehicle were uninjured.

Initial inquiries indicate as the Toyota Hilux turned onto Woodville Road, the occupants of a Mercedes fired several rounds at it, hitting the driver and front seat passenger.

The injured men – aged 32 and 25 – were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to hospital.

The older man underwent surgery; however, has since passed away.

The younger man remains in a stable condition.

Detectives from Criminal Groups Squad have commenced an investigation into the shooting under Strike Force Arrino, which is overseen by Taskforce Falcon.
