Woman dies when SUV crashes near Broken Hill

A woman has died following a crash in the state’s far west yesterday.

About 7.10pm yesterday (Sunday 25 May 2025), emergency services were called to the Barrier Highway, about 25km west of Broken Hill, following reports of a single-vehicle crash involving a SUV.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle – a 62-year-old woman – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics but died at the scene.

A crime scene was established, and officers attached to Barrier Police District commenced an investigation into the circumstances into the incident.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
