Appeal to locate woman missing near Lismore

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a woman missing from near Lismore.

Esme Caverly, aged 25, was last seen at Minyon Falls Lookout in the Whian Whian State Forest - about 20km north of Lismore – shortly before midday yesterday (Wednesday 21 May 2025).

When she was unable to be located or contacted, officers attached to Tweed/Byron Police District were notified and commenced inquiries into her whereabouts.

Officers from Richmond Police District in conjunction with the Police Rescue Squad, State Emergency Services and the National Parks and Wildlife Service are conducting a land search inside the Whian Whian State Forest.

Police and family members hold serious concerns for Esme’s welfare.

Esme is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 170cm tall, medium build and medium-length brown hair.

She was last seen wearing a dark-coloured shirt, dark-coloured pants, black sneakers and a nose piercing.

Esme is known to frequent the Whian Whian National Park and Suffolk Park areas. She also has ties to Melbourne, Victoria.

Anyone with information into Esme’s whereabouts – or was in the vicinity of Minyon Falls Lookout at the time with any available dashcam/mobile phone footage - is urged to contact Lismore Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
