Criminal Groups Squad detectives have charged the alleged gunman in the Marrickville shooting of two brothers in 2023 under Strike Force Orsino.

About 1.50pm on Friday 7 July 2023, emergency services were called to a business on Marrickville Road in Marrickville, after reports two men – aged 20 and 33 – had been shot.

Both men were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital; with one man suffering serious injuries.

The men have since been identified as William and Eric Siale.

A short time later, emergency services responded to two burnt-out vehicles located in Marrickville and Dulwich Hill, which were treated as linked.

Crime scenes were established at all three locations, which were forensically examined by specialist officers.

Officers attached to Inner West Police Area Command commenced initial inquiries before State Crime Command’s Criminal Groups Squad took carriage of the investigation under Strike Force Orsino.

14 men have been previously charged and remain before the courts.

Following further extensive inquiries, about 9.10am yesterday (Wednesday 21 May 2025), strike force detectives – with assistance from Raptor Squad – executed a search warrant in Edmondson Park, where they arrested a 23-year-old man.

The man was taken to Cabramatta Police Station, where he was charged with two counts of shoot at with intent to murder, participate in a criminal group, fail to comply digital evidence access order direction, supply prohibited drug >indictable & <commercial quantity and possess prohibited drug.

He was refused bail to appear in Fairfield Local Court today (Thursday 22 May 2025).
