Woman dies following crash - Sutherland

A woman has died following a single-vehicle crash in Sydney’s south yesterday.

Just before 8pm yesterday (Thursday 15 May 2025), emergency services were called to the intersection of Jannali Avenue and Sumner Street, Sutherland, following reports of a crash.

Officers attached to Sutherland Shire Police Area Command attended and found a sedan had left the roadway and crashed into two trees, trapping the driver.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the driver, a woman believed to be in her 50s, however, died at the scene.

She is yet to be formally identified.

A crime scene was established and investigations commenced into the circumstances of the crash.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
