Appeal for information after one man stabbed & another assaulted at Clyde

Police are appealing for help from the public as they investigate a stabbing at Clyde early this morning.

About 3.40am today (Thursday 15 May 2025), officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command were called to James Ruse Drive, and found a 54-year-old man had been stabbed in the neck and cheek and a 36-year-old man had been assaulted.

The two injured men are being treated at Westmead Hospital; police have been told the injuries are not considered to be serious.

Police have been told the men were transporting a 28-year-old Tongan National from Villawood to Sydney Airport when the incident occurred.

Police have a description of the man they believe can assist with inquiries. He’s described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, with a tanned complexion, a large build, about 180cm tall with black hair, dark eyes and is unshaven. At the time he was wearing a black coat, black track pants and black and white sneakers.

Officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command, with assistance of specialist police including the Dog Unit are continuing to search the area.
