Fatal crash south-west of Eden

A child died, and three people were hospitalised following a two-vehicle crash on the Far South Coast yesterday.
Emergency services were called to Towamba Road, Nullica, 10km south-west of Eden, about 4.10pm (Tuesday 13 May 2025), after a LDV dual-cab utility and Kenworth tipper truck collided.
A six-year-old boy, who had been a passenger in the utility, died at the scene.
The driver, a-31-year-old man, and two girls – aged two and eight - in the same vehicle, suffered multiple injuries.
The driver was airlifted to Canberra Hospital while the two children were airlifted to Sydney Children’s Hospital.
The truck driver, aged 52, was taken to South-East Regional Hospital at Bega for mandatory testing and to be treated for the effects of shock. He has since been released.
The crash scene has been examined by officers attached to the Southern Region Crash Investigation Unit, and an investigation is underway into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
