A child has died and three people have been injured when a dual-cab ute and truck collided this afternoon on the Far South Coast.

Emergency services were called to Towamba Road, Nullica, 10km south-west of Eden, about 4.10pm (Tuesday 13 May 2025), and found a six-year-old boy, who had been travelling in the ute, had died at the scene.

The driver, a man aged in his 30s, and a three-year-old girl, who was a passenger in the same vehicle, suffered multiple injuries; they have been airlifted from Merimbula Airport.

A third passenger in the ute, an eight-year-old girl, has been taken to South-East Regional Hospital at Bega.

The driver of the truck, believed to be aged in his 50s, has been taken to the same hospital for mandatory testing and to be treated for the effects of shock.

The crash scene will be examined by officers attached to the Southern Region Crash Investigation Unit, which is now enroute to the scene.

Towamba Road will be closed for some hours as the investigation gets underway.
