Four teens arrested after pursuit from Edmondson Park to Bondi Junction

Four teenagers have been arrested following a pursuit with police from Sydney’s southwest to the eastern suburbs.
About 10.30am today (Thursday 8 May 2025), officers attached to Campbelltown City Police Area Command attempted to stop a Mazda CX3 – reportedly stolen from a home in Victoria yesterday (Wednesday 8 May 2025) – on the Hume Highway, Edmondson Park.
When the driver failed to stop as directed, a pursuit initiated.
The pursuit continued along the M5 Motorway towards the M7 at Prospect before it was terminated due to safety concerns.
With the assistance of Polair, the vehicle was tracked travelling along the M5 Motorway at Milperra, where the pursuit was reengaged.
Multiple resources assisted; however, the pursuit was terminated after items were thrown from the vehicle towards police.
Polair continued to track the vehicle traveling eastbound along the M5 Motorway which travelled through local streets of Alexandria, Zetland, Centennial Park, Randwick and Bondi Junction.
About 11.20pm the vehicle was dumped inside the bus interchange at Bondi Junction Railway Station with all four occupants fleeing the vehicle and running onto the train platform.
Plain clothes officers attached to Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command Proactive Crime Team, spotted the individuals involved, before a foot pursuit commenced.
Two teenage boys – aged 14 – and two girls aged 12 and 17 – were arrested and assisted by officers on their first day as probational constables.
They were taken to Surry Hills Police Station and are assisting police with inquiries.
