Woman dies after crash near Lithgow

A woman has died following a crash near Lithgow yesterday.
Emergency services were called to the Great Western Highway, Marrangarooo, about 5km north of Lithgow, about 2.10pm yesterday (Tuesday 6 May 2025), and found a sedan and truck had crashed.
The driver of the sedan – a 86-year-old woman – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics but died at the scene.
The driver of the truck – a 64-year-old man – was taken to Lithgow Hospital for mandatory testing.
A crime scene was established, and officers attached to Chifley Police District, with the assistance from officers attached to Traffic and Highway Patrol Command, have commenced an investigation into the circumstances into the incident.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
