Man charged with sexual act in Wagga Wagga

A man has been charged with a sexual act in the Riverina.

Police were contacted following reports of a man allegedly committing a sexual act while watching two young children, near Wiradjuri Walking track, on Johnson Street, Wagga Wagga, about 3.15pm on Tuesday 22 April 2025.

Officers attached to Riverina Police commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, about 7am yesterday (Monday 5 May 2025), a 53-year-old man was arrested at Wagga Wagga Police Station.

He was charged with intentionally carry out sexual act with child < 10 years.

The man appeared in Wagga Wagga Local Court yesterday, where he was formally refused bail to reappear at the same court on Wednesday 21 May 2025.
