Appeal for information following car fire - Burraneer

Police have released CCTV and are appealing for information as part of an ongoing investigation into a suspicious car fire in Sydney’s south earlier this year.

About 5.00am on Sunday 16 March 2025, emergency services were called to a home on Dolans Road, Burraneer, following reports of a fire.

Officers attached to Sutherland Shire Police Area Command arrived and were told a black Range Rover had been set alight before the owner managed to extinguish the blaze.

Police commenced an investigation into the incident and following initial inquiries, are treating the fire as suspicious.

Strike Force Meeks, comprising detectives from the Sutherland Shire Police Area Command, was formed to investigate the circumstances of the fire.

As investigations continue, police have released images of two men who police believe can assist with their inquiries.

The first man depicted is described as being of slim build and wearing a hooded jumper, pants and sneakers. The second is described as being of medium build with short dark hair and wearing a t-shirt, pants and sneakers.
