Two teens charged over alleged aggravated break and enters - Operation Regional Mongoose

Two teenage boys have been charged after alleged aggravated break and enters in the state’s Mid North Coast.

Officers attached to the Mid North Coast Police District have been investigating a string of break and enters at several homes in Armidale and Crescent Head in January and February 2025.

Police will allege about 10.30pm on Thursday 23 January 2025, a group of people broke into a home on Dulconghi Street, Crescent Head, where two people were threatened by the group, who were armed with a hammer and metal bar. The group left a short time later taken a BMW sedan.

Between Thursday 6 February 2025 and Friday 7 February 2025, two people allegedly broke into a home on Faulkner Street, Armidale before stealing a Bentley SUV.

Following extensive investigations, police attended a home in Kempsey and arrested a 15-year-old boy.

During a search of the home, police located and arrested a 16-year-old boy.

They were both taken to Kempsey Police Station.

The 16-year-old was charged with five offences:

Aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence-people there

Be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner

Participate criminal group contribute criminal activity

Face blackened/disguised with intent commit indictable offence, and

Commit s114 offence, having previous conviction.

The 15-year-old boy was charged with be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner.

They were both refused bail to appear before children’s court today (Friday 14 February 2025).
