Teens charged after firearms and vehicles stolen - Tamworth

Three teenagers have been charged after vehicles and firearms were allegedly stolen from a home in Tamworth yesterday.

About 4.30am (Saturday 28 September 2024) officers from Oxley Police District were called to a home in Tamworth following reports of an alleged break and enter.

On arrival, police were told two vehicles and seven firearms were allegedly taken from the premises.

No one was injured during the incident.

Following investigations, about 12.15pm yesterday officers executed a crime scene warrant at a home on Robert Street, Tamworth, where seven firearms, clothing and a knife were located and seized for forensic examination.

Three boys – aged 13, 14 and 15 – were arrested at the scene and taken to Tamworth Police Station.

The two younger boys were charged with aggravated break and enter in company, seven counts of possess unauthorised firearm, seven counts of possess stolen firearm, and be carried in conveyance. The 14-year-old boy was also charged with breach of bail.

The older boy was charged with breach of bail.

All three teenagers were refused bail and appeared at a children’s court today (Sunday 29 September 2024).
