CCTV released after suspicious death of man - Summer Hill

Police have released further CCTV footage as investigations continue into the suspicious death of a man in Sydney’s Inner West earlier this year.

About 6.30am on Monday 7 February 2022, emergency services were called to Hardie Avenue, Summer Hill, following a concern for welfare report.

A man was located unresponsive at the scene by a member of the public, who assisted him before officers attached to Burwood Police Area Command attended and commenced CPR.

Despite their efforts, the man died at the scene.

The man has since been identified as 72-year-old Vincenzo Leonello.

A crime scene was established and examined by specialist forensic officers.

Detectives established Strike Force Ratsu to investigate the circumstances surrounding Mr Leonello’s death, which is being treated as suspicious.

As part of ongoing inquiries, investigators have continued to review countless hours of CCTV footage and have today released further vision which may prompt members of the public who have information to come forward.

The CCTV depicts a person leaving the vicinity of where Mr Leonello was discovered.
