Police have released CCTV footage as they continue investigations into an aggravated robbery in Tamworth earlier this year.

About 11pm on Thursday 30 June 2022, two men – aged 32 and 44 – left a fast-food restaurant and were walking along Goonoo Goonoo Road when they were approached by a number of men near the intersection of Greg Norman Drive.

Police have been told the unknown men assaulted the men, before demanding their wallets.

The unknown men continued to assault the men – punching them and ripping one of the men’s shirts off – before they fled the scene with cash.

The injured men were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to Tamworth Hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

Officers from Oxley Police District were notified and attended, establishing a crime scene which was forensically examined.

Strike Force Coughlin has been established by Tamworth detectives to investigate the incident.

As inquiries continue, police have released CCTV footage of two men who may be able to assist with inquiries.

They are depicted in the footage as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in their 20s, and both males are wearing black baseball caps with a white emblem on the front.

One of the males has a moustache and is depicted wearing a black hooded jumper with a red emblem on the front, dark long pants and black shoes.

The second male is seen wearing a black long-sleeved top with an emblem on the front, grey or light blue long pants and black street shoes with a white tick on the side.
