Just before 7am yesterday (Sunday 31 July 2022), emergency services responded to reports of a two-vehicle crash on Kosciuszko Road, Cootralantra, approximately 7km north of Berridale.

Police have been told a white Subaru Liberty was traveling north and a white Subaru Impreza was headed south when they collided, causing both vehicles to spin out.

The impact pushed the hatchback into a creek drain, coming to a stop 20m away.

Witnesses stopped to render assistance, before officers attached to Monaro Police District.

The driver of the sedan – a man aged 29 – was assessed at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics for leg injuries, before being airlifted to Canberra Hospital in a serious but stable condition, where he remains.

The driver of the hatchback, a woman aged 28 – and her three passengers – were taken to Cooma Hospital with minor injuries.
