A man has been charged following a crash at Brookvale earlier today.

A pursuit was initiated but was terminated due to safety concerns.

A short time later, the vehicle was involved in a crash with another car at the intersection of Pittwater and Winbourne roads.

It’s alleged the driver ran from the car and attempted to flee; however, he was stopped by four bystanders before police arrived.

The female driver of the second vehicle was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene and taken to North Shore Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
