Police have arrested a man wanted on an outstanding warrant in North Sydney overnight.

A public appeal had been made by Kuring Gai Police Area Command to locate the 30-year-old man after an arrest warrant was issued for his revocation of parole.

An officer attached to North Shore Police Area Command was patrolling Denison Street, North Sydney, about 11.50pm (Tuesday 5 July 2022), when the man was seen near a hotel.

He was followed to a carpark where – police allege – the man produced a knife.

The man was arrested and taken to Chatswood Police Station where he’s been charged with use weapon to avoid apprehension, as well as the three outstanding warrants.

He has also been charged over the alleged break and enter of the same childcare centre in North Sydney twice, earlier this week.

He has been refused bail to appear in Manly Local Court today (Wednesday 6 July 2022).
