Homicide Squad detectives have launched a fresh appeal for information as investigations continue into the stabbing death of a teenager during an alleged brawl at the Sydney Royal Easter Show this year.
Emergency services responded to the carnival ride section about 8pm on Monday 11 April 2022, following reports of a brawl during which two boys, aged 16 and 17, suffered stab wounds.
The older boy died enroute to hospital, while the younger boy underwent treatment for a wound to his leg.
Strike Force Calle was established to investigate the incident, which is now being led by detectives from the Homicide Squad, along with Auburn Police Area Command and South West Metropolitan Region.
The investigation has also been assisted by specialist forensic officers, who have conducted extensive examinations and analysis.
As investigations continue, Strike Force Calle detectives have released CCTV footage of a number of people who police believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.
Following further extensive reviews by forensic detectives, it’s believed some of the persons depicted may have had a direct line of sight to the incident and could have vital information for investigators.
If you recognise yourself or someone you know, or you have any additional information which could assist strike force investigators, please contact police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Anyone with information that may assist Strike Force Calle investigators is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence. The public is reminded not to report information via NSW Police social media pages.
