ALERT - Large fire near Dapto

Emergency services are currently on scene at a large fire south of Sydney.

About 3pm today (Saturday 18 June 2022), emergency services responded to reports of a fire at an electrical substation on the Princess Highway, Yallah (approximately 5km south of Dapto).

As a result of the fire large volumes of smoke are emitting from the scene and blowing north bound.

Due to the smoke being considered toxic affected residents are urged to stay indoors and secure all doors and windows.

It is anticipated that it maybe sometime before the fire is under control.

There are no reports of injuries.

NSW Fire and Rescue are the lead agency at this stage.

The Live Traffic NSW website should also be monitored for possible road closures and diversions.
