Teenager charged as investigations continue into death of man after fight - Roselands

A teenager has been charged as investigations continue into the death of man at Roselands last week.

Emergency services were called to Leonard Reserve on Chapel Street, Roselands, shortly before 9.50pm on Thursday (23 February 2023), following reports of a brawl.

Officers attached to Campsie Police Area Command attended and found a 24-year-old man suffering stab wounds.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, died at the scene.

Campsie detectives - assisted by the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad – established Strike Force Poton to investigate the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.

As part of inquiries, investigators arrested a 17-year-old boy after he presented to hospital with a hand injury.

The teen was discharged yesterday (Saturday 25 February 2023) and taken to Campsie Police Station, where he was charged with affray and hinder investigation serious indictable offence of other.

He was refused bail to appear at a children’s court today (Sunday 26 February 2023).
