Police have released CCTV footage as they continue to investigate an aggravated break and enter at a home in the state’s Riverina earlier this year.

Between 5pm on Monday 3 October 2022 and 7am on Tuesday 4 October 2022, a granny flat at a rural property on Scott Street, Moorong, near Wagga Wagga, was broken into, with a vehicle, three firearms and around $60,000 worth of jewellery stolen.

Officers attached to Riverina Police District were notified and established a crime scene, which was forensically examined, and an investigation commenced.

The vehicle – a 2000 model silver Toyota Camry sedan – was recovered near the intersection of Edward and Pearson Streets, Wagga Wagga, about 8.30am the same day.

Following inquiries, a .22 calibre bolt action rifle was located on Travers Street, Wagga Wagga, on Thursday 7 October 2022.

As investigations continue under Strike Force Nimbo, investigators have released CCTV of two people they believe may be able to assist with inquiries.

The CCTV depicts the two people walking along Edward Street/the Sturt Highway, before they turn onto McNickle Road.

One person can be seen running towards the location where the stolen vehicle was recovered, before a person is dropped off in a vehicle and ran across a cul-de-sac on Saxon Street.

Police have also released an image of the recovered vehicle and are appealing for anyone who saw it being driven at the time of the incident to come forward.

Anyone with information on the incident, or who may have witnessed suspicious activity around the time of the break in, are urged to contact Wagga Wagga Police on 6922 2599 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
