Charges laid; drugs, cockatoo and medals seized - Strike Force Polar

Detectives have charged two men – including one subject to a Drug Supply Prohibition Order – and seized drugs, cash, a cockatoo and war medals as part of an investigation into the supply of prohibited drugs in Sydney’s south-west.
In May 2022, officers from Bankstown Police Area Command commenced an investigation into the manufacture and supply of prohibited drugs and firearms in the south-west Sydney region under Strike Force Polar.
Following extensive inquiries, strike force investigators executed four search warrants at homes in Lakemba, Bankstown, and Punchbowl about 4.30pm yesterday (Thursday 17 November 2022).
Investigators located more than 6kg of methylamphetamine, a knife, cash, and cannabis, as well as a cockatoo and war medals alleged to have been stolen.
These items were seized to undergo forensic examination.
Two men – aged 28 and 31 – were arrested at the properties and taken to Bankstown Police Station
The 31-year-old Bankstown man was charged with four counts of possess prohibited drug, three counts of supply prohibited drugs, use prohibited weapon contrary to prohibition order, recklessly deal with proceeds of crime, and goods in custody suspected stolen in/on premises.
Police will allege in court that the man is subject to Drug Supply Prohibition Order.
The 28-year-old Punchbowl man was charged with larceny and goods suspected stolen in/on premises.
Both men were refused bail to appear before Bankstown Local Court today (Friday 18 November 2022).
Investigations under Strike Force Polar are continuing.
