Charges laid over Wakeley public order incident - Strike Force Dribs

A teenager will face court tomorrow (Wednesday 24 April 2024) charged by officers investigating a public order incident at Wakeley earlier this week.

Strike Force Dribs was set up to investigate the violent incidents outside a Wakeley church on Monday 15 April 2024, following the alleged attack of a 53-year-old religious leader.

About 8.40am today (Tuesday 23 April 2024), a 17-year-old male attended Fairfield Police Station where he was placed under arrest.

The teenager was charged with riot, destroy or damage property and possess unauthorised pistol.

He was refused bail to appear at a children’s court tomorrow (Wednesday 24 April 2024).

Investigations are continuing under Strike Force Dribs.
