Man in court over Wakeley public order incident - Strike Force Dribs

A man has been charged by officers investigating a public order incident at Wakeley earlier this week.

Strike Force Dribs was set up to investigate the violent incidents outside a Wakeley church on Monday 15 April 2024, following the alleged attack of a 53-year-old religious leader.

Following inquiries, a search warrant was executed at a home in Fairfield Heights, about 6.20pm (Friday 19 April 2024) today.

A 45-year-old man was arrested at the scene and was taken to Fairfield Police Station where he was charged with two offences,

• Riot, and

• Threaten violence, cause fear.

He has been refused bail to appear in Parramatta Bail Court tomorrow (Saturday 20 April 2024).

Inquiries are continuing under Strike Force Dribs.
