A man is due in court later today after being extradited from Queensland over an alleged business fraud.

Detectives attached to The Hume Police District initiated an investigation into the alleged multi-million-dollar fraud relating to loans and investment companies in the Southern Highlands between 2013 and 2023.

Following extensive investigations, detectives were granted an arrest warrant on 13 March 2024 for a 55-year-old man.

About 8:20am on Tuesday (23 March 2024) Queensland Police detectives attended a home in Wynnum where the man was arrested by virtue of the warrant on behalf of NSW Police.

The man appeared in Cleveland Magistrates Court yesterday (Wednesday 27 March 2024), where an application by The Hume PD detectives to extradite the man to NSW was granted.

The man arrived in Sydney about 1pm today (Thursday 28 March 2024), and was taken by The Hume PD detectives to Waverley Police Station

Police will allege in court the man was the director of a finance company that offered loans to small to medium businesses in exchange for purchasing their invoices for work that had been completed.
