Man arrested after woman's body found at Werrington

A man has been arrested after the body of a woman was located in Sydney’s west yesterday.

About 1.15pm yesterday (Sunday 15 June 2025), officers from Nepean Police Area Command were called to Irwin Street, Werrington, after the body of a 47-year-old woman was located in bushland.

Police established a crime scene and local detectives – with the assistance of the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad – commenced an investigation under Strike Force Dowerin.

Following extensive inquiries, officers arrested a man – also aged 47 – at a home on Powell Street, Hobartville, about 6pm (Monday 16 June 2025).

He has been taken to Windsor Police Station, where inquiries continue.
