Three boys charged following pursuit in stolen car in Orange - Operation Soteria

Three boys have been charged following an alleged aggravated break and enter, a stolen car and pursuit in the state’s Central West yesterday.

Officers attached to Central West Police District were called to a home on Edward Street, Orange, about 6am, yesterday (Wednesday 11 June 2025), following reports of an alleged aggravated break-in where a Subaru sedan was stolen.

A short time later, police were patrolling along Lone Pine Avenue, Orange, when they attempted to stop the Subaru.

When it failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated.

The pursuit continued through Orange before police successfully deployed road spikes and the Subaru came to a stop at the intersection of Lone Pine Avenue and Sir Neville Howse Place.

Police commenced a foot pursuit after three males ran from the Subaru.

A short time later three boys aged 15,14, and 13 were arrested and taken to Orange Police Station.

The 15-year-old boy was charged with two counts of aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence-armed, two counts of aggravated break and enter dwelling in company steal, two counts of drive conveyance taken without consent of owner, and face blackened/disguised with intent commit indictable offence.

The 14-year-old boy was charged with be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner.

The other boy was charged with aggravated break and enter dwelling in company intent to steal, be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner, and breach of bail.

Two boys aged ­­– 15 and 13 – were refused bail to appear at a children’s court today (Thursday 12 June 2025).

The other boy was given conditional bail to appear at a children’s court on Monday 30 June 2025.

Police will allege in court the 15-year-old boy was involved in four aggravated break, enter and steal motor vehicles in the Orange area in February this year.
