Raptor Squad officers charge suspected Hells Angel OMCG associate with allegedly king hitting man

Raptor Squad officers have charged a suspected associate of the Hells Angels OMCG with multiple assault offences after he allegedly king hit a man in a Merewether licenced premises last month.
About 11pm Saturday 14 September 2024, police were called to a licenced premises on Morgan Street, Merewether, following reports multiple men had been assaulted.
Officers attached to Newcastle City Police District arrived and were told an unknown man had punched two men – aged 19 and 20 – in their heads before fleeing the scene.
Both men received injuries to their mouths and face, however they both refused treatment.
Officers attached to State Crime Command’s Raptor Squad immediately commenced investigations into the incident.
Following inquiries, Raptor Squad officers executed a search warrant at a Merewether home about 6am today (Wednesday 2 October 2024).
During the search officers located and seized personal items allegedly used in the offence and electronic items.
Following the search Raptor Squad officers arrested a 47-year-old man – a suspected associate of the Hells Angel OMCG – at the home, before taking him to Newcastle Police Station.
He was charged with two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray.
The man was granted conditional bail to appear before Newcastle Local Court on Thursday 31 October 2024.
