Man missing from Heathcote located in bushland

A man missing for two days in Sydney’s south, has been located in bushland.

The 76-year-old man was last seen at an aged care home on The Avenue about 11am on Friday (13 May 2022). Police were alerted when he failed to return and could not be located or contacted.

Since this time, officers from Sutherland Shire Police Area Command, PolAir and the Dog Unit have been conducting searches in Heathcote, focusing on both residential areas and the Royal National Park.

Police have been joined by the SES, RFS and National Parks and Wildlife.

Just before 7.30am this morning (Sunday 15 May 2022), a member of the public located the man in bushland.

The man is being assessed by NSW Ambulance paramedics for dehydration and exposure. He will be taken to St George Hospital for treatment.

Sutherland Shire Police Area Command Duty Officer, Inspector Gary Ford thanks the public for their assistance.
