The NSWPF is the public face of road safety. Although our duties are diverse, our overarching goal is to minimise the danger and road trauma of pedestrians and road users, and to facilitate the free movement of traffic on NSW roads. To continue to develop new solutions and strategies for improving road safety, we are interested in research examining the following topics.

NSWPF is particularly interested in research into

15.1 Research surrounding the effectiveness of using diversion strategies (traffic offender programs, cautions, education programs) instead of enforcement action when the offence involves road trauma. How are diversion strategies perceived by victims and offenders in this context?

15.2 Research evaluating the impact of NSWPF led driver education programs (e.g., in secondary schools) on driving behaviours and vehicle accidents, offences, and fatalities involving young drivers. What attitudes do young people (< 25 years) hold toward these policing strategies and the current road safety legislation.

15.5 Research surrounding the effectiveness of different communication strategies within varying media platforms to capture and generate key road safety messaging relevant to target audiences and demographics.
