About the Academy

The NSW Police Force academy is where you begin your training to become a NSW Police officer.

Location

The academy is located at 1 McDermott Drive, Goulburn (Show on map).

It is approximately 195 kilometres south-west of Sydney in the Southern Tablelands of NSW, 90 kilometres north-east of Canberra and sits on 40 hectares of land.

The NSW Police Academy is honored that the land they occupy is the traditional lands of the Mulwaree, Tarlo, Burra Burra, Wollondilly, Wiradjuri, Gundungurra, Dharrook, Tharwal, Lachlan, Pajong, Parramarragoo, Cookmal and Ngunawal people.

Facilities

The NSW Police Academy is a state of the art law enforcement training facility and is considered to be one of the top police training facilities globally.

We use leading technology through our VIRTRA virtual weapons training facility, simunition training venues, scenario village, Police driver training facility and live fire pistol ranges.

Your days at the academy will start early with a 7.00am parade with classes throughout the day to about 5.00pm. Students are expected to maintain Personal Training (PT) and study outside class hours.
