Accommodation and meals

The residential accommodation rooms are provided for course participants in a variety of accommodation areas at the Police Academy. There are no cooking facilities in the accommodation or residential common rooms areas and all meals are provided in the dining room.

On-site accommodation

On-site accommodation and meals are available for policing students studying the Associate Degree in Policing Practice in session 2. Living on-site at the Police Academy has the benefit of living and learning in a policing environment with after-hours access to the Library, Learning Commons, physical fitness amenities and Wi-Fi.

There may be circumstances where living on-site is not an option due to personal reasons or unavailability of residential rooms. Alternative arrangements can be made available through private accommodation in Goulburn. Further information can be obtained by contacting Campus Management on (02) 4828 8525.

The NSW Police Force provides students with $100 per week to cover the costs of their accommodation and meals whilst living onsite at the NSW Police Academy. This allowance can be paid directly to the NSW Police Academy. Repeating or returning students will still receive the allowance. If living off campus, the allowance will be paid directly to your nominated bank account to assist with the cost of living during your Session 2 studies.

Applications for accommodation will be sent to students via Interact2 by their Session Coordinator.

Included with the on-site accommodation is:

  • Linen (except bath towels and gym towels)
  • Coin operated washers and dryers ($2 coin)
  • Kettles, refrigerators and televisions are located in the residential common rooms

Students staying on-site need to bring:

  • Towels
  • Alarm clock/radio
  • Toiletries
  • Laundry detergent
  • Coffee mug
  • Iron
  • Hair dryer

The following is NOT permitted in the residential accommodation:

  • Electric blankets
  • Cooking equipment
  • Electric heaters
  • Large bulky items

While it is not compulsory to stay on-site, it is strongly advised that you do so because of the demanding requirements of the training program and positive aspects of communal living, e.g. comradery, study groups, support network.

Off-site accommodation

A list of commercial accommodation providers is available as a courtesy for visitors to the Police Academy. Please note that due to COVID19, no unauthorised visitors are permitted onsite until further notice.

Meals

Our approach to food is simple - it should be prepared using the freshest ingredients and cater for all tastes with a clear focus on embracing healthy and nutritious options.

The hot food selection encompasses this philosophy and every day the bain-marie will offer a different line up of freshly cooked dishes. Whilst many dishes will have a contemporary healthy spin, traditional favourites and other comfort foods will always be readily available.

Food allergies and dietary requirements are taken into consideration when developing our menus and subsequently this information is communicated on all menus.

Within the Gallery Cafe our approach to coffee is simple - produce premium coffee fashioned by a qualified barista to create that great cafe "buzz". Using premium coffee beans, our barista will quickly learn your favourites. Enjoy a delicious range of freshly baked continental cookies, muffins, slices and scrolls that are sure to be a crowd pleaser.
