About the Course & Applying

How will I study?

The UCWE is offered online only, with two options:

  1. Eight (8) weeks part time online (160 hours learning engagement over the course duration – recommended average of 20 hours per week).
  2. Four (4) weeks full time online (160 hours learning engagement over the course duration – recommended average of 40 hours per week).

To be eligible to undertake the ACWE 4-Week accelerated course you must:

  • submit your application to join the NSW Police Force by 11.59pm on day 2 of the course (can be submitted any time after you received your confirmation of enrolment), and
  • be able to meet the learning engagement commitment (recommended average of 40 hours per week).

How much will it cost?

The cost of the UCWE in 2022 is $1,728, paid upfront to Charles Sturt or by deferral of fees via FEE-HELP.

What does the course content look like and how am I assessed?

Students will require a computer or laptop with the following minimum applications or equivalent to participate in the UCWE and to complete their assessments:

  • Microsoft Office suite, capable of reading Word documents, Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader - latest version
  • Media player
  • Headphones and/or speakers to listen to recorded learning content and to participate in online sessions
  • Stable internet connectivity

Assessments cannot be undertaken on a mobile phone or device
