Raptor Squad officers charge nine during high-visibility compliance operation

Raptor Squad officers have charged nine during a three-day compliance operation targeting OMCG and OCN members and associates across the Sydney metro area.
Operation Scorpion was led by State Crime Command’s Raptor Squad, with assistance from South West and North West Metropolitan Regions and the Dog Unit.
Between Thursday 6 November 2025 and Saturday 8 November 2025, officers conducted 116 bail compliance checks, 78 person searches and 33 vehicle searches.
In addition, nine people were arrested and charged during the proactive and high-visibility policing operation, with 64 charges laid and 38 legal processes initiated.
Arrests of note include:
- Just after 12am on Friday 7 November 2025, police patrolling the Hume Highway near Villawood attempted to stop a vehicle travelling above the speed limit. A pursuit was initiated when the driver sped up to 130km an hour in a 70km zone to flee from police. The pursuit continued through Bass Hill before the vehicle came to a stop on Buist Street. The driver – a 39-year-old man – was arrested and subject to a roadside drug test, to which he tested positive to methamphetamine. He was taken to Bankstown Police Station, where he was charged with police pursuit - not stop - drive dangerously. The man was refused bail and appeared in Bankstown Local Court the same day.
- About 3.30am on Friday 7 November 2025, police attempted to stop a vehicle for the purpose of a random breath test on Woodville Road at Guildford. When the driver failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated through Parramatta and Dulwich Hill, during which the driver allegedly sped up to 170kms in a 100km zone. The vehicle crashed and came to a stop on Pigott Street in Dulwich Hill, where the driver and occupant attempted to flee from police on foot. The driver, a 30-year-old man, and his passenger, a 31-year-old woman were arrested and taken to Newtown Police Station. The man was charged with police pursuit - not stop - drive dangerously, contravene prohibition/restriction in AVO (domestic), refuse or fail to provide urine sample, licence expired more than 2 years ago, and breach of bail. The woman was charged with contravene prohibition/restriction in AVO (domestic). They were both refused bail to appear in Bail Division Local Court 6 the same day.
- Just before 6.45pm on Saturday 8 November 2025, officers attempted to stop an allegedly stolen motorcycle on Woodstock Avenue at Blackett. The motorcycle allegedly displayed no registration plates and the driver was wearing a balaclava. The rider, a 29-year-old man, attempted to flee from police on the bike before crashing at Whalan Reserve in Tregear and then fleeing on foot. He was arrested shortly after and was taken to Mount Druitt Police Station, where he was charged with drive conveyance taken without consent of owner and unlicensed for Class, Class C, R, LR or MR. Checks on the bike revealed it had been stolen from Chippendale earlier this month. The man was granted conditional bail to appear in Mount Druitt Local Court on Monday 17 November 2025.
