Fatal house fire near Wagga Wagga

An investigation is underway after a fatal house fire near Wagga Wagga.

Around 6:30pm yesterday (Saturday 11 October 2025), emergency services were called to Gallipoli Street, Temora, following reports of a house fire.

Officers attached to Riverina Police District attended the scene and located an 81-year-old man with significant burns and a fire in the kitchen.

Flames were extinguished by police and family members prior to Fire and Rescue NSW attendance.

The man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics however, he died at the scene.

The fire is not being treated as suspicious

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner
