Fees and Charges

An application fee of $30.00 applies to all applications made under the Act.  If a request for internal review is made, an additional payment of $40:00 will be required.

In certain circumstances, you may be entitled to a 50% reduction, however supporting documentation MUST be provided, such as a health benefit card or student card.

The following is a guideline as to when a reduction can be sought:

i) An applicant who holds a pensioner health benefit card; or

ii) an applicant whose weekly income is less that the maximum weekly income allowable, under the Social Security Act 1947 of the Commonwealth, to holders of such a card; or

iii) an applicant who is under the age of 18 years; or

iv) an applicant who is applying on behalf of a non-profit organisation that can demonstrate financial hardship; or

v) an applicant who's application relates to information that it is in the public interest to make available.

Fees are payable by CHEQUE, marked 'not negotiable' or MONEY ORDER only, made payable to THE NSW COMMISSIONER OF POLICE. Cash is NOT ACCEPTED.

In certain circumstances this Agency may request the applicant to pay a specified amount by way of advance payment to cover the cost of dealing with the application. In such matters, the applicant will be sent a notice indicating the amount being sought by this agency.
